First, large-scale scenery elements are drawn and only then placed over a grid, which is plucked three-dimensionally. Instead of adding drawn textures to ordinary polygons like Telltale & Co., the two German adventures go the opposite way. Already the fantasy adventure The Book of Unwritten Tales 2used this technique, but Marco Hüllen’s natural backdrops from Silence seem a little more rustic. It took a long time, but the effort was worth it: In the last three years, no brushstrokes have been brought to life as beautifully as in Silence. But most of all, Silence will remind you Telltale’s ‘Batman’ series of games from this genre, and using the Joy-Con gives you a means of interacting with a world full of character and curiosity, as is standard with these games. But Silence gives you a gentle introduction to the genre, and by its close, it gives you the curiosity to play games that defined the genre, such as Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, and many more. Similar to those who don’t queue to play the latest FIFA or Call of Duty every year.
To some players, point-and-click games won’t be the type of genre that they usually go for.
The game begins with them taking shelter in a bunker during an air raid, where they find a path to the Whispered World, almost similar to the realm of Narnia.
